Green AGC

What makes AGC GREEN?

- Recyclable
• The galvanizing process combines zinc and steel which are 100% recyclable at their end of their service life without the loss of any of their chemical or physical properties.

• AGC provides its spent pickling acid as a neutralizing feed stock for spent caustic solutions at its chosen disposal facility minimizing two waste streams and their impact on the environment.

• All process water used within the galvanizing operations @ AGC is recycled within the facility.

• All storm water is maintained within the AGC facility compound and is filtered through two in-ground stormceptors before being re-charged back into the environment.

- No Lead Galvanizing Kettle
• AGC uses only the purest grade of zinc (Special High Grade) and does not add lead to the zinc bath. Many galvanizers still use Prime Western zinc or add lead to their bath creating a composition with up to just over 1% lead.

-Totally Enclosed Kettle Operation
• AGC’s Double Nickel Kettle has an enclosure on top of it with end doors that open to allow material to enter and exit but keep it safe and fume free during the dipping procedure. An attached dust collector draws the dust particulates that release during the immersion of the product as it receives its zinc galvanized coating.

- Sustainability
• Galvanized steel lasts in excess of 50 years in most environments with no energy, material, or labor input required for maintenance. The CO2 emissions and SO2 output is less than half that of other competitive corrosion protection alternatives.
